Pittosporum Crassifolium Karo
Evergreen NZ native. Grows in wet or dry conditions. Small purple flowers, large green berries. Small, densely-foliaged bush or small tree. Excellent on the coast. Responds well to trimming. Excellent for growing under tall deciduous trees. Dark-red flowers and grey/green leaves. Nectar from November-December. Fruit/seeds from February-June.
An attractive species popular for its fast growth, robust grey-green leaves, sweetly scented flowers and remarkable resilience in coastal areas. Although frost sensitive, once established it will tolerate moderate frosts and snow fall.
Plants are a minimum 15 cm tall. Tallest plants will be sent.
Will grow to about 5 metres high x 4metres wide after 10 years. Easily trimmed to form a hedge.
