Spacing for hedge: 4 - 5 plants per metre for a hedge.
 
It's an evergreen drought tolerant shrub particularly in poor well drained soils. It may be clipped into any form including a hedge. This plant is extremely drought tolerant once established.Teucrium fruticans will tolerate most well drained soils, including poor soils. It will not tolerate wet soil conditions. Teucrium fruticans requires little maintenance, but may be clipped on a regular basis to promote new attractive growth. It may be hard pruned.
 
Plants have been trimmed to around 15 to 20cm tall. This encourages a bushy plant when planted out. 3rd photo shows typical plants and the well-developed roots.
